Si2 Announces the Fifth OpenAccess Developers Forum with Speakers and Demonstrations from Leading Semiconductor and EDA Companies

AUSTIN, Texas—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Oct. 25, 2004— The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) today announced that its fifth OpenAccess Developers Forum will be held on November 11, 2004, at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.

The Forum will feature speakers and demonstrations from several of the industry's leading semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) companies, including AMD, Cadence Design Systems, CiraNova, Freescale, IBM, Mentor Graphics, MEMsCAP, and Silicon Navigator.

The featured keynote speaker is John Darringer, Manager of System Level Design, TJ Watson Research Center, IBM Microelectronics, who will be addressing the evolving role of the OpenAccess standard in the EDA industry. He will be followed by paper and panel sessions on OpenAccess deployment experiences, information on the upcoming OpenAccess release and roadmap, and unique OpenAccess applications shared from academia sources. A new OpenAccess Logo Branding and Certification program will also be announced.

A Partners' Pavilion and reception will be held after the Paper Sessions, where OpenAccess Coalition member and non-member companies will be providing live demonstrations of their products running on OpenAccess. In addition, one and two day technical training courses on the next release of OpenAccess will be held the following week.

About OpenAccess

The OpenAccess Coalition is a community-driven initiative formed to enable the creation of tightly integrated flows involving best-in-class commercial and proprietary tools and intellectual property (IP), necessary to support design of today's complex chips. This is done through an open standard data access interface (API) and reference database implementation supporting that API. Leading electronics companies with significant investment in CAD tools and infrastructure, as well as many commercial Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool providers, have embraced the OpenAccess initiative as a means to support rapid product development. The OpenAccess Coalition operates under the governance and bylaws of Si2. Si2 is a not-for-profit organization of 60 industry-leading semiconductor and EDA tool companies focused on improving productivity and reducing cost in creating and producing integrated silicon systems.
